A Little Easter Egg Hunt

ยท 276 words ยท 2 minute read

Today is Easter Monday (and April Fool’s Day, but enough of that). If your tummy is not yet full from overindulgence in chocolate, I have a final Easter egg for you. But you’re going to have to work for it.

Step 1 ๐Ÿ”—

Complete this “Tracks” puzzle from the Simon Tatham’s Portable Puzzle Collection. The rules are as quoted from the site:

Complete the track from A to B so that the rows and columns contain the same number of track segments as are indicated in the clues to the top and right of the grid. There are only straight and 90-degree curved rail sections, and the track may not cross itself.

The game board, formed by an 8x8 grid

Step 2 ๐Ÿ”—

Superimpose your track on this grid of 8 x 8 letters. Follow the track from start to finish and note down each letter to form a string. The first letter of the string is going to be ‘W’ and the final one ‘L’.

F R L T P N S G
B Q K H M J Y V
Z X D C W A E O
I U T S R Q P N
M J Y V B Q K H
W A E O Z X D C
R Q P N I U T S
H M J Y F R L T
